Melissa Greenberg

Lead Teacher, Junior Kindergarten

Teacher at GPS since 2010

25 Years of Teaching Experience

Melissa’s joy comes from seeing the light in a student’s eyes when they get excited about learning in her classroom. She believes that a theme-based, hands-on curriculum is the best way to teach and loves that Golden Pond School allows her to see this every single day! As the Junior Kindergarten Team Leader she works closely with the supportive and friendly educators and administrators at GPS. Melissa enjoys the freedom to teach the way she sees most effective in her classroom and creates a huge love of learning in her young students. Melissa was a Preschool Special Education Teacher for five years plus a Substitute Teacher as a long term substitute in art education and preschool special education for five years in the Fairfax County Public Schools. She also was a Pre-K teacher at Beth Emeth Education Center for 3 years, was a religious school teacher and served on the educational board at her temple.

“I believe that kindness, confidence and empathy are three of the most important skills that a child should learn in preschool.”
