Important Information

  • New Family Application Fee: $50 paid via check. New families are families that are currently not enrolled at GPS or who are not enrolled for the Fall 2021-22 school year.
  • Summer Camp Tuition: Payment due via SchoolCare Works. New families: you will receive an email to set up a SchoolCare Works account. Current families: your tuition will be added to your account. All Summer Camp tuition is due in full by June 1, 2021.
  • Sibling Discount: 10% discount for families who have more than one student attending Summer Camp at the same time. Qualifying students must reside in the same household. The discount applies to the lesser of the tuitions. If three siblings attend Summer Camp at the same time, there is a 10% discount on the two lesser tuitions. The sibling discount does not apply to the (non-refundable) deposit.
  • Changes: Subject to availability for comparable days/times. You may change your selected 2 week session, based on availability. A $20 change fee will apply. Cancellations will be charged a $50 fee.
  • Absence Policy: Families are financially responsible for each week your child is enrolled regardless of attendance.
  • Summer Camp Enrollment: Available for each camp until 12 pm on the Thursday prior to the start of the next 2 week session.
  • Enrollment age/grade: Families must enroll camper by the age (preschool) OR grade (school age) s/he will be entering in the coming school year.
  • Potty Policy: Campers under 3 years old do NOT need to be potty independent. Campers 3 years old and older must be potty independent by their first day of camp.
  • Grouping: Age groups may be combined to meet the minimum number of participants OR split to accommodate more campers when necessary.
  • Field Trips: Due to current COVID19 policies, there will be no field trips or in-house field trips.
  • Water Days: Due to current COVID19 policies, water days are to be determined.
  • Forms: Due to current COVID19 policies, all forms and medications MUST be turned in before the start of camp, not on the first day.


WEEK 1 – 2

YOUNG SCRAMBLER, SCRAMBLER & PRESCHOOL CAMPERS

Dance with fairies and elves, create musical instruments and meet woodland animals! Fairytales come to life through imaginary play and a background of nature-inspired design. The magic continues during Week 2 – cooking up delightful treats for the Enchanted Woodland Party.

SCHOOL AGE CAMPERS

Spend a tree-mendous time exploring the wee folk of the forest. Use bark, twigs, clay and other elements of nature to design a fairy garden, hobbit habitat or gnome home. The magic continues during Week 2 – cooking up delightful treats for the Enchanted Woodland Party.

 

Rising Kindergarten – Rising First Grade

Develop important skills through word play activities and strengthen fluency, comprehension and recall while playing games.


WEEK 3-4

July 6-9 (4 day week) + July 12-14

YOUNG SCRAMBLER, SCRAMBLER & PRESCHOOL CAMPERS

Dig in and explore dirt! Learn about worms, ants, beetles and other insects hidden in garden soil. Plant and tend to flowers and vegetables in the gardens. Create a plantable pot out of newspaper and watch your own seedling grow! During Week 2 Meet the friendliest bug in the garden – a ladybug! Examine live ladybugs up-close before they are set free. Celebrate this gentle insect with inspired art activities, stories and games.

SCHOOL AGE CAMPERS

Dragonflies, beetles and spiders, oh my! Explore the garden ecosystem examining these amazing predators that help protect our gardens from pests. Create a garden mosaic inspired by your favorite insect. During Week 2 find out what’s all the buzz about? Bees! We’ll take a close look at these important pollinators and learn why we need to protect these mighty creatures. Learn the science behind pollination, honey making, beeswax, bee vision, and the waggle dance!


 

WEEK 5 – 6

July 19-23 + July 26-30

YOUNG SCRAMBLER, SCRAMBLER & PRESCHOOL CAMPERS

Sort shells, create an ocean mural, discover life beneath the surface, enjoy sand play dough and go on a beach scavenger hunt. Dive deeper into the ocean with science experiments, creative art activities and themed snacks.

SCHOOL AGE CAMPERS

Investigate the ocean’s layers and explore marine life in each zone. Discover your favorite sea creatures and learn how you can make a difference to protect their environment. Dive deeper into the ocean with science experiments, creative art activities and themed snacks.

WEEK 7 – 8

Aug. 2-6 + Aug. 9-13

YOUNG SCRAMBLER, SCRAMBLER & PRESCHOOL CAMPERS

Discover rocks of all shapes, sizes and colors. Have fun collecting, experimenting and building with different types of rocks. Make and paint your very own rock sculpture! Pan for “diamonds”, make a delicious science experiment – your very own rock candy, make friends with a pet rock, and discover all the nooks and crannies in rocks with water play.

SCHOOL AGE CAMPERS

A Jello earthquake? Earth’s layers in a pudding cup? A Pop Rocks volcano? Indulge in sweet treats as you experiment and learn all about rocks! Explore rocks through art and design. Make your own rocks, learn how to make buildable rock slime and craft a clay and rock funny face.
