the-cremins-familyWhen we moved to Ashburn 4 years ago I started looking for a preschool but it was hard to find one that wasn’t a preschool/ daycare. I asked fellow mothers and this is when I discovered Golden Pond Preschool. I set up a tour of the school and was immediately greeted by the warm and friendly staff. I was able to observe a class and see first hand how their philosophy of learning through a hands on experience is put into practice. I left that tour feeling confident that my child would not only grow but would thrive at this school.

This will be our third year at Golden Pond and my 4 1/2 year old son is starting in their junior kindergarten program. It is amazing to see how much he has matured and learned over the past 2 years – for example he can tell you the life cycle of seeds and water – not something many children at this age can do. He walks through the door with a smile on his face eager to learn something new and see his friends and teachers. This is very comforting as a first time mom leaving my child someplace without me.

the-cremins-family-jackGolden Pond is so much more than just a preschool. It’s a family. We have fostered many friendships even outside of the classroom. The children are involved in after school activities together as well. We have created countless memories here and cannot wait to see what this year holds for us.

The other part that drew me to Golden Pond was the volunteer opportunities for the parents to be involved at the school. They have a parent group which is not something you typically find at a preschool. Their purpose is to enhance our children’s educational experience by teaching them about giving back to our community through various charitable and social events.  After volunteering for the past 2 years, the opportunity became available for me to step up as the chair of the Parent Group.  I was eager to take on this position.
