Who We Are
Golden Pond School is committed to fostering happy, lifelong learners. At Golden Pond we know that children are active learners.
We know that a child needs to:
- touch, smell, see, hear, squeeze, and even eat the world to understand it, making her learning meaningful
- feel secure and loved before learning can take place
- experience novelty to maintain interest
- be challenged to encourage learning
- have a stimulating and varied environment
Linking all of these areas is language. We know that early childhood is a very special time for the growth of language. In fact, a child’s brain is so ready for language stimulation that these years are sometimes referred to as a “Window of Opportunity” for language. This is why you see such an emphasis on both spoken and written language at Golden Pond. Because we know all of these things about early childhood, at Golden Pond School you will see children actively exploring the world around them through:
| - science investigations |
- creative play |
| - story dramatizations |
- interactive books |
| - Spanish lessons |
- child-made graphs |
| - class-made murals |
- music & movement and art |

"... every person there, from the teachers to all the staff, is completely committed to the children and their education."
